Julian Brown designed Hannibal for Rexite in 1998, naming it after the general who crossed the Alps with his elephants. Closed, it is a compact helmet shape; one finger is enough to open it into a small elephant that offers the tape on its outstretched trunk.
The main body is engineering polymer, weighted with a die-cast aluminium ballast, and the ballast is covered in non-slip natural rubber so the dispenser stays put on the desk. Closed it measures 10.5 × 8 cm with a height of 9.5 cm; open, it extends to 16.5 cm. It weighs 2.0 kg.
